In Brazil, Valentine's Day is celebrated on June 12th, the eve of Saint Anthony's Day, popularly known as the matchmaker saint. The deities of love

In Greek mythology, the goddess most associated with love is Aphrodite. Born from the sea foam, she represents attraction, sensuality, beauty, and the power of relationships.

Her Roman equivalent is Venus, whose influence remains alive today in astrology through the planet that bears her name.

Alongside them we find Eros, known to the Romans as Cupid, the winged archer whose arrows awaken deep feelings between lovers.

In Norse traditions, the goddess Freyja governs both love and magic, being one of the most revered deities of the ancient Scandinavian peoples.

In many ancient cultures, love was never seen as merely romance. It was understood as a creative force, capable of uniting people, families, communities, and even worlds.

The spiritual meaning of love

From a spiritual perspective, love is often described as an energy of connection.

It invites us to step out of individuality and recognize the presence of the other. It's through love that we learn about surrender, respect, compassion, vulnerability, and growth.
