It’s Not New..It’s Returning

It’s Not New..It’s Returning

Unfinished business and what to do about it.

There’s this story I catch myself telling every year—that Spring is a fresh start.

It’s not.

It’s Spring, again, and it’s supposed to feel “new and fresh”. Instead, it feels familiar in a way that’s hard to explain unless you’ve been paying attention. It’s like something I already decided a while ago is back… and now it wants an answer.

The older I get, the more I notice it in the way my energy shifts. I’m less tolerant of things that don’t fit. More aware of what I’ve been putting off. The same ideas, the same directions, the same quiet pulls—they come back around like they’ve been waiting for me to catch up.

And I used to call that confusion.

Now I know better.

If something keeps returning, it’s not random. It’s not indecision. It’s memory. Not the kind you think through—the kind you feel when something is just obvious, even if you don’t want it to be.

That’s the uncomfortable part.

Because it means I don’t actually need more clarity. I need to stop pretending I don’t already know.

Spring has a way of exposing that. The light comes back, everything wakes up, and suddenly the distractions don’t work the same way. What I’ve been avoiding feels louder. It’s the things that I never took care of the year before and when you don’t take care of unfinished business - it comes back, over and over.

More direct.

More inconvenient.

More honest.

So I’ve stopped asking for signs. I’ve stopped waiting for confirmation. If something keeps showing up—same direction, same pull—I treat it like it matters.

Because it does.

This isn’t a beginning. It’s a return to something I already recognized once… and didn’t follow through on.

Seeing

Recognize recurring thoughts and pulls as internal instruction, not confusion.

Ritual: The Return Check

Sit somewhere quiet.

Write down three things that have repeatedly come back to you lately—decisions, ideas, directions.

Read them back slowly and ask: If I already knew this was the path, what would I do next?

Write it down. Do something about it.

It's New. What is not, is only the patterns. But the breath, the moment, the spirit, is New. Now. For sure.
