When the light went out to reveal the path

On August 12, 2026, the sky plunged into brief darkness.

The New Moon in Leo brought with it a total solar eclipse, opening a moment of retreat, closure, and transformation.

The following day, August 13, we turn our gaze to Hecate, Lady of the crossroads, of pathways, of doorways, and of all moments when one version of our life must end so another can begin.

There is a profound power in this passage.

First, the light withdraws.

Then, we are placed before the path.

The need for approval.

The guilt.

The insecurity.

The difficulty saying no.

The attachment to what has already ended.

The version of ourselves that keeps trying to survive even after life has asked it to leave.

Hecate knows these places.

She walks the edges.

Keeps the doorways.

Knows the crossroads.

And she teaches us that there is no true transformation without the courage to cross through what we've been avoiding.

Hecate and the courage to choose

Every crossroads demands a choice.

And choosing means understanding that not all paths will continue with us.

You don't need to carry the past to prove you learned from it.

You don't need to stay where there's no longer any growth.

You don't need to keep being who you had to be to survive a certain phase of your life.

There is a version of you that fulfilled a mission.

She got you here.

She endured.

She learned.

She did what she could with the tools she had.

But now there is a new door.

And crossing through it requires leaving some things behind.

Hecate teaches us:

don't be afraid to close a door when your soul no longer belongs in that house.

And within us remains what was awakened in that moment.

Hecate reminds us that no ending needs to be seen as defeat.

There are endings that are liberations.

There are goodbyes that restore our strength.

There are doors that need to be closed so we can finally see the road ahead.

You don't need to know the entire path.

You only need the courage to take the next step.

The crossroads doesn't exist to imprison.

It exists to reveal that there are choices.

And when you choose consciously, you stop walking through life merely following what happened to you.

You begin to take part in shaping your own destiny.

The eclipse revealed the shadow.

Hecate guarded the passage.

And you stood before your own crossroads.

Now, the choice is yours.

Close what needs to end.

Honor what you lived.

Take the key.

And cross.

Because the person you will be after this passage doesn't need to carry everything the person you were had to bear.
