Looking back, using honey candles was one of my first encounters with the magical worldโ€”aside from my extensive collection of gems and crystals when I could barely read and write, and my heightened sensitivity when it came to sensing things.

Honey candles are widely recognized for attracting positive energies and abundance, and what's more, this ritual is extremely simple.

โš ๏ธIn this article we're going to be working with fire. I want to remind you that no ritual or practice is worth putting your surroundings, home, family, or pets at risk. If it's not safe to light a candle right now, don't light it. Magic is also about taking care of ourselves and each otherโ€”avoid risks and firesโš ๏ธ

But what are honey candles actually used for?

If we break down this ritualโ€”one of the easiest and simplest ways to connect with abundanceโ€”we'll start by talking about fire, a purifying and transformative element if there ever was one, symbolizing beginnings, illumination, humanity's first primitive act that opened the path to abundance. And it's no coincidence that we still use fire today as a catalyst and transmutation tool in our rituals.

But why honey specifically? Honey has direct natural associations with nature, sweetness, abundance, prosperity, light, and the harmony that exists between living beings and the natural environment we live in. That's why candles made from this material combine the properties of honey as the main element and fire as the ritual's channeling element.

When should I light honey candles?

I always say this: there's nothing more powerful than your intuition. Sometimes I've been at home in a relaxed and cozy atmosphere and felt the urge to light a honey candle, so I did, and that's perfectly fine. However, tradition indicates that these candles should be lit on the 11th and 22nd of each month, with the 11th symbolizing intuition, luck, prosperity, the alignment of our purposes and achievements, and the 22nd representing the materialization of dreams, specific goals and efforts, balance, and a long road ahead.

And how do I perform the ritual?

Here comes the best partโ€”you don't have to do anything other than light your honey candle on a flat, safe surface and let it burn completely. You don't have to write anything down, you don't have to beg or ask or manifest, although if you need to manifest something at this moment, you can (as long as it's not during a full moon).

Let the candle burn completely and interpret the wax remains. I have an article I wrote just a few days ago where you can read about this topic.

See you in upcoming articles.
