October arrives with a sky that refuses to leave anything superficial.
The month begins with Venus retrograde in Scorpio on October 3rd, putting relationships, desires, values, and deep bonds under review. On October 10th, the New Moon occurs in Libra, opening a new cycle for agreements, relationships, and choices. On October 16th, Pluto returns to direct motion in Aquarius, stirring processes of transformation. On October 23rd, the Sun enters Scorpio. On October 24th, Mercury begins its retrograde in Scorpio. And on October 26th, we have the Full Moon in Taurus.
It's a sky of depth.
October isn't just about beginning. It's about reviewing, transforming, and consciously choosing what deserves to continue.
๐ฆ Scorpio guides much of this narrative. It leads us to what exists beneath the surface: desires, attachments, bonds, fears, and truths that ask for courage.
โจ The first breath of October
On the first day of the month, place a small amount of cinnamon powder in the palm of your hand. Before blowing, remain in silence for a few seconds and think about what you wish to set in motion in your life during this new cycle: prosperity, creativity, courage, opportunities, or open paths.
Then, blow the cinnamon into your home, from the door toward the interior. As the powder spreads, say:
"May October find my home open to prosperity, to creation, and to the paths that are ready to unfold. May I also have the courage to walk them."
Let the cinnamon rest for a few minutes and then clean normally. The gesture doesn't replace action. It marks an intention.
๐ฎ Days for magic
October also offers significant dates for those who work with magic and devotion.
In the Hellenic calendar, we find days dedicated to Hecate (October 11), Athena (October 14), Aphrodite, Hermes, Heracles, and Eros (October 15), Artemis (October 17), Apollo (October 18), and Poseidon and Theseus (October 19). These dates belong to a specific tradition and can be studied or used in devotional practices by those who follow that path. And then we arrive at October 31st. This date is associated with Halloween and Samhain. However, in the Southern Hemisphere, many branches of the Wheel of the Year position Beltane during this period, while Samhain is celebrated around May.
๐ September taught us to look within. October arrives asking what we'll do with what we found.
This is the true magic of this month:
not trying to predict the path, but preparing to walk it.
October opens doors inward.
And some of them, once opened, we can never again pretend we didn't see.
