Candle for interpreting energies โจ๐ฏ๏ธ

I still remember the winter of 2022-2023 when I was facing a pretty important exam that could change (and did change) the rest of my life.
A neighbor of mine, who was also quite into mystical and witchy practices, told me to light a large white candle ๐ฏ๏ธ and that the way the wax burned would reflect the energy surrounding my exam and selection process in general.
Today I thought it would be really interesting to share this with you allโhow it's done and how I still do it to this day.
โ ๏ธFirst of all, and as I always say, this ritual uses fire, so please be mindful. If you have kids or pets at home, they don't understand why a candle is lit or the danger it poses, so don't leave this candle unattended, and if you need to leave the house while the candle is still burning (the candle can take days to burn out), leave it in the bathtub, shower, or sinkโdon't leave it near a window since the wind can knock it over or alter the flame's movement and, therefore, the ritual. โ ๏ธ
๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ ๐ฏ๏ธ Let's get into the ritual ๐ฏ๏ธ ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ
The ritual itself went as follows.
Alone, in the quiet of my room, I had to take the white candle (preferably medium-sized and thick) and anoint it with an essential oil I was familiar with, anointing it from bottom to top, and once it was anointed, I also had to write my wish or request from bottom to top. If you don't have essential oils, cooking olive oil or even your favorite perfume will do.
Then I would place the candle in the center of the plate and make a circle of coarse salt around it, and light it while focusing on my wish, my prayer or request until it burned out. Once it burned out, I had to interpret the wax that remained.
โจThe best outcome is when there's no wax residue left, or only the outline circle of the candleโif this happens, your prayer has been heard and you can rest assured that the energy is with you
โจIf there's soft wax left that's pleasant to touch and centered in the candle holder or plate, it's a good signโit means your goal is on the right track but you need to keep working on it; the energies are in your favor
โจIf the wax touches the salt or spills off the plate, it's a bad sign and it's believed someone may be interfering with your purpose
โจAn abundance of wax means you should repeat the ritual since the energy is quite dense or disturbed and isn't seen as a good sign...
โจRough, lumpy, or sharp waxโnegative energies, bad sign
Something else that's very important is watching how the wax drips, without obsessing over itโyou don't need to spend hours and hours observing the wax:
๐ฏ๏ธ Wax drip on the right: good sign
๐ฏ๏ธDrip on the left: bad sign, doubts, negative energies
๐ฏ๏ธDrips all over the candle: scattered and released energies and emotions. There's no control or obstaclesโthere could be difficulties or the complete opposite. In this case, it's better to wait until the candle burns out
๐ฏ๏ธNo drips or very few: good sign, clear path. Same if they fall very quickly
๐ฏ๏ธDrips that fall occasionally and without monotony: specific problems that will be easily resolved
๐ฏ๏ธAbundant drips: released energies. According to ceromancy, this can be a good omen
Sometimes I don't have any requests but I light these candles anyway to check the energy of the environment, or to pray for something or someone.
I've also done it several times to cleanse the energy of my house, and it's been quite curious to see the shapes the wax has madeโeven the figure of a woman appeared clearly one day ๐ฎ
The topic of ceromancy is something I'd love to know much more about, so if you have information or know something I haven't written, leave it in the commentsโI think it's a really beautiful way to share information and learn together โจ๐ค
