Full Moon in Pisces & Total Lunar Eclipse

The Full Moon in Pisces rises on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 18:08 UT/GMT.

By this time, the Moon is already moving through Earth’s shadow, gradually building up to the Maximum Eclipse at 18:12 UT/GMT — the peak moment when much of the world will see the glowing red “Blood Moon.”

The total phase lasts about 1 hour 22 minutes, and the entire eclipse spans 5 hours 27 minutes.

A Total Lunar Eclipse occurs when Earth blocks direct sunlight from reaching the Moon. Instead, sunlight is filtered through Earth’s atmosphere — a process known as Rayleigh scattering — which bends the rays and bathes the Moon in a deep red glow.

This particular eclipse takes place just three days before perigee, the point when the Moon is closest to Earth, making it appear slightly larger than usual. That’s why it is called a Supermoon.

This will be the longest Total Lunar Eclipse  since 2022. Totality will be visible from Australia, Asia, Africa, and Europe. That means over 7 billion people will be able to see the eclipse, and about 6.2 billion will have the opportunity to follow the entire event from beginning to end.

However, this celestial spectacle will not be visible across most of North and South America.

September’s Full Moon is often called the Harvest Moon, but that title goes to the full moon nearest the September 22 equinox. In 2025, that will be October 7. So this September Full Moon may carry another name — the Corn Moon. It’s also known as the Fruit Moon, and sometimes as the Barley Moon.

Spiritually, this lunation marks completion and gratitude, a moment to reflect on what has been “harvested” before stepping into a new season.

The period known as the Eclipse Corridor is believed to reveal whether we are truly moving in the right direction. Pay attention to the events unfolding between September 7 and September 21, as they may carry important messages. The corridor will conclude with a Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo.

Eclipses always come in pairs at minimum, since they occur only near the lunar nodes. At times, an entire trio can fit into a single season — for example, in July–August 2018 (two solar and one lunar eclipse) and in June–July 2020 (two lunar and one solar eclipse).

The Pisces Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse on September 7 act as an energetic portal — a powerful moment for deep cleansing, intuitive work, and releasing the old. This period amplifies emotions and sensitivity.
