Leo Season | Becoming Visible
Article · 2 min read ·

22 July 2026, Sun enters into Tropical Leo.
Every year when the Sun enters Leo, I notice the same thing. The conversation almost immediately becomes about confidence. Be bolder. Be seen. Step into the spotlight, but I’ve never been completely convinced.
The Sun doesn’t rise because it wants attention. It rises because that’s simply what it does, and that is a noticeable difference.
I wonder how much of our lives is spent performing versions of ourselves that we think will be accepted. Not because we’re being dishonest, but because it’s surprisingly easy to confuse being recognised with being known.
Leo feels like an invitation to untangle that.
This year, the Human Design transit adds another layer. The Sun moves through Gate 31, the Gate of Influence. At first glance, it sounds like leadership. Maybe it is. But I’ve become less interested in leadership as a role and more interested in influence as a consequence.
Some people walk into a room and everyone listens.
Others speak just as eloquently and barely register.
I’ve started to think the difference isn’t confidence. It might be coherence.
There’s something quietly compelling about people whose lives and words agree with one another. You don’t have to believe everything they say to recognise the integrity behind it.
Perhaps that’s what influence really is, it’s not convincing and it’s not persuading, it’s simply becoming so aligned that other people become curious.
I also catch myself wondering where performance still sneaks into my own life. It’s rarely obvious. Sometimes it looks like saying yes because it’s easier than disappointing someone. Sometimes it’s softening an opinion so nobody feels uncomfortable. Sometimes it’s sounding more certain than I actually am.
I don’t think Leo asks us to become louder.
I think it asks us to become less divided.
There’s freedom in admitting you don’t know.
There’s also freedom in discovering the places where you do know, not because someone told you, but because you’ve lived it.
Those are different kinds of certainty.
One is borrowed.
The other is embodied.
Maybe that’s why this season feels warm to me. Not because Leo is associated with fire, but because authenticity has its own temperature. You can usually feel it before anyone says a word.
I’m trying to spend less time asking how I appear and more time noticing whether I feel internally consistent. The second question is harder. It doesn’t offer many shortcuts. It asks for honesty instead of image.
Perhaps that’s the real invitation over the coming weeks.
Not to become someone new.
Just to stop negotiating with the parts of yourself that have quietly been waiting to come into the light.
The Sun never asks permission to rise.
Maybe there are parts of us that don’t need permission either.
