We are the currency

I pulled the Ten of Pentacles today, and usually when I pull this card, people get really excited because it represents wealth. It’s a very, very positive card in tarot.

But the message I received today regarding this card was more about the wealth that we are.

I want you to understand this: there is a value to who we are, and that value can only be defined by you. However, for centuries, that value has been defined by others. We’ve been given a price tag—some of us have been sold for cheap. We’ve been abused and used because of the enormous value we have as humans, hence why it is called human capital.

But I want you to understand this: we are the currency.

All this paper money, whatever names we give it, has no value on its own. It only has value because we give it value. We’ve been taught that we need it to live and survive, that it defines what we can become, but without us, it is nothing.

So this is a reminder: the real wealth is us.

The wealth lives in you. It lives in your gifts, your talents, your genius. Without that, there is no value in money at all.

I want you to remember that the value you need to focus on is your own—not just what we’re told we need to survive on this earth. We are being asked to go back to the nature of who we truly are. Here are a few reflective questions for you to go into an inquiry.

Reflection:

1. What value have others imposed on me?
2. What does it mean to live a life worthy of who I believe I am?
3. How does that show through my gifts and talents?
4. What is one thing I will do to remind myself of my true value?
