A time for self examination

As we approach the Fall Equinox on September 22nd, I could sit here and talk about all the “nice” things we love to hear—balance, equilibrium, harvesting, all of that. But the message coming through for this Equinox feels different. It’s not about how much more we can have; it’s about how much we can let go of.
And when I say let go of, I’m not talking about superficial stuff. I mean the deep, shadowed things, the traumas, the wounds, the pain we’ve already faced in the dark but still cling to. I mean the patterns and sorrows that don’t just affect us, but ripple out to the collective.
Because here’s the truth. If we keep believing that the darkness, the hatred, the pain, that this is “normal,” then we’ll never break free from the loop. It feels as if humanity is stuck in a “tower moment,” refusing to step into the next phase.
Let this Equinox be a time not just to reflect, but to examine your heart. Where are you still falling short, not only with yourself, but with your neighbor? Where are you still holding on to what keeps love from fully living through you?
Because the goal is not just to talk about love, or to do charity, or to be “nice.” It’s to become love, to truly embody it in every word, every action, every thought.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts; and see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139: 23-24
