WHEN LIFE SHEDS ITS SKIN
The evil eye, spells, and those invisible forces that appear when we stop being who we were

There are moments in life when change arrives uninvited.
A relationship ends. A friendship grows cold. A project that seemed destined to succeed comes to a halt. New people arrive, others disappear, and suddenly, what seemed stable for years begins to shift.
Then an old question surfaces, almost instinctive:
"What's happening?"
And some people look to the stars. Others consult the tarot. Some speak of energy, of the evil eye, of envy, or even of spells.
Perhaps what's truly interesting isn't whether some invisible force is trying to alter our destiny, but rather understanding why we need to name what we can't yet explain.
Since ancient times, humans have used symbols to understand great transformations. The evil eye, for example, appears in numerous traditions as the representation of a gaze laden with desire, envy, or negative intention. But beyond believing in it literally, there's a deeply human reading: feeling that someone is watching our life from a place that doesn't wish us well.
And that we do know.
We've all felt at some point that a person drains our energy. That after certain conversations, we come away exhausted. That there are connections that make us small while others restore our strength.
Coincidence? Psychology? Energy?
Perhaps each person finds their own answer.
Spells can also be viewed from another perspective. Before being mysterious words, candles, herbs, or symbols, they were a way of placing intention on what we wanted to transform.
Because changing life has always required an act of will.
Lighting a candle may not magically alter the universe, but it can shift our attention. Speaking an intention may not control destiny, but it can help us remember where we want to walk. Creating a ritual can become a symbolic boundary between the person we were and the one we're trying to be.
And perhaps that's where the true magic lies.
Life constantly sheds its skin.
What yesterday seemed like a loss can become tomorrow's liberation. A closed door can force us to discover we'd been knocking at the wrong place all along. A person who leaves can leave us with a silence that, over time, we discover we needed.
That's why, when everything begins to shift, it doesn't always mean something dark is working against us.
Sometimes we're simply changing.
And change can be uncomfortable.
There's an ancient need to find someone to blame when our reality becomes disordered. "Someone's given me the evil eye." "Someone's done something to me." "Since that person showed up, everything started going wrong."
But there's a much more powerful question:
What is this change trying to teach me?
Perhaps we don't need to protect ourselves from all external energies, but rather learn to recognize what we allow into our own life.
Setting boundaries is also a ritual.
Distancing ourselves from those who harm us is also protection.
Closing a door is also magic.
Saying "no" can be a spell.
And starting over can be the most powerful spell of all.
Perhaps true transformation isn't about fighting supposed invisible forces, but about reclaiming our own power.
Because there's a magic no one can perform for us: choosing what we do with what life places before our eyes.
And when that moment arrives, when we stop asking who hurt us and start asking who we want to be, something extraordinary happens.
Life begins to move again.
Not because we've discovered a secret spell.
But because we've finally decided to participate in our own transformation.
Perhaps that's the true mystery.
That sometimes life doesn't come to punish us.
It comes to help us shed our skin.
