The changing of the season arrives like a whisper: leaves begin to fall from the trees, light takes on a golden hue, and the air seems to carry a different energy. Nature reminds us of an ancient teaching: nothing stays the same, and that's precisely where its magic lies.

Welcoming Autumn can become much more than a seasonal shift. It's an opportunity to enter a more intimate realm, to listen to what was silenced during summer, and to prepare the soul for a profound transformation.

On September 22nd, with the arrival of the Autumn Equinox, light and darkness meet in symbolic balance. From then on, the nights will begin to grow longer. Not as a threat, but as an invitation to look within.

Perhaps that's why Autumn feels almost ritualistic.

The Ritual of Letting Go

Find a quiet place. Light a white, amber, or brown candle and place nearby some dried leaves, a stone, a branch, or any natural element that represents this season.

Breathe deeply and think about what you no longer wish to carry with you.

You don't need to fight it.

Write on a piece of paper a word, a situation, a fear, or a habit you're ready to release. Fold the paper and leave it beside the candle for a few minutes. Afterward, you can tear it up and discard it as a symbolic gesture of closure.

As you watch the flame, repeat silently:

"I release what has ended. I am grateful for what I've lived. I open space for what is yet to come."

The true power of the ritual isn't in the candle or the leaves. It lies in the intention with which you choose to close a chapter.

The Wisdom of the Leaves

There is something deeply mysterious in watching a tree let go of what was part of it for months.

It doesn't do so because it has lost its value.

It does so because the time has come.

Perhaps that's one of Autumn's greatest teachings: not everything we release is something we've stopped loving. Some things have simply completed their cycle.

That's why this season can become a mirror. It invites us to ask what we want to keep, what we need to transform, and what we're holding onto merely out of fear of losing it.

Autumn reminds us that letting go can also be a way of trusting.

When the evening of September 22nd arrives, open a window, let the fresh air in, and gaze at the sky for a few minutes. Give thanks for what is ending and silently set an intention for the months ahead.

Because while the trees seem to lose everything, they are actually preparing for their next spring.

And perhaps we are too.
