WHEN THE PAST COMES KNOCKING

There are months that seem to push forward yet force us to look back. October 2026 may feel exactly like this: a doorway between two different times, where things we thought were closed reappear to show us something we may not have fully understood.

Someone may come back into your life. A pending conversation might finally find its moment. An emotion that seemed forgotten could awaken again. Even a decision we made long ago might return to our awareness.

But there's a fundamental difference: just because something returns doesn't mean we have to go back.

Astrology can be understood as a symbolic language that invites us to observe these inner movements. And October may become a particularly interesting stage for asking ourselves which part of our past still has a place in our current life and which simply needs to be let go.

The past doesn't always come to stay

When something reappears, our first reaction is usually emotional. We remember how we felt, who we were, and what we wanted back then. Memory has an extraordinary ability to illuminate certain moments while hiding others.

That's why, when facing a return, it's worth asking a different question:

Do I miss what happened, or do I miss who I was when it happened?

The answer can change everything.

Perhaps that relationship coming back to mind no longer fits who we've become. Maybe that opportunity we once turned down now deserves a second look. Or we might discover that what hurt us so much no longer has power over us.

October can work, symbolically, as a mirror.

And mirrors don't tell us what to do. They simply show what is.

A second chance doesn't always mean repeating

There's a romantic notion of second chances: returning to the same place and picking up the story where it left off. But true transformation happens when we're able to return to a situation without reverting to our old self.

You can talk to someone without falling back into the role you used to play with them.

You can remember a dream without feeling you have to chase it.

You can acknowledge a mistake without making it your identity again.

You can open a door and calmly decide that this time you'd rather not walk through.

That's evolution too.

October asks for awareness, not nostalgia

During this month, before making any impulsive decisions driven by memories or intense emotions, it might help to give yourself a few quiet moments.

Write down what has come back into your life. Then divide the paper into three sections:

What I learned.

What I still feel.

What I no longer want to repeat.

The third question may be the most powerful.

Because growth isn't just about knowing what we want to achieve. It also means recognizing what we're no longer willing to lose about ourselves.

The real return is you

Perhaps October's greatest message isn't that someone comes back, but that you come back to yourself.

You return to a part of your story that needed to be understood. You look at what used to overwhelm you and discover you can now see it from a different place. You're no longer exactly that person who waited, who suffered, who doubted, or who needed certain answers.

You've changed.

And maybe that's why the past is knocking at the door again.

Not to pull you backward, but so you can finally see how far you've come.

Because some doors come back into our lives to be opened.

And others return only so we can close them in peace.
