One of the most defining aspects in every person's life is understanding what they want in life and where they're headed. Many of us are weighed down with thousands of responsibilities, committed to society, to work, to family, to friends, to neighborsโ€ฆ there are so many commitments that there's no space left for you.

Many people think it's selfish to think about our own dreams, but it's part of the foundation for anyone who wants to achieve success.

"Those who don't love themselves don't have the strength to love."

And that's how this process begins.

If we don't have the focus and strength to concentrate on our achievements and aspirations, we'll never be able to bring to life the world of success we've envisioned in our minds. Perhaps you're the kind of person caught in the middle of a whirlwind, with many decisions swirling around you, and it feels overwhelming to choose the right path because that decision could change the course of your life. Sometimes it's difficult to set a course or direction, because it means setting aside feelings and emotions.

How do you know which will be the best decision? Well, nobody knows.

At that moment, you need to use two necessary skills: reason and intuition. Reason will allow you to weigh the advantages of heading toward a specific destination.

You project yourself into the future and see yourself in each circumstance. Be honest with yourself. That's why I recommend writing down each result obtained after careful analysis.

Lay out the reasons.

If necessary, you can apply an analysis of opportunities and threats. You'll surely have many doubts, so for now, let's move on to the next step.

Intuition is our primitive side.

It's in the reptilian zone and handles many impulses purely by gut feeling. Its driving force is based on facts and background, as well as a vision of something only you know. Sometimes it operates under a value judgment, but leaves necessary space to trust someone again. Many great entrepreneurs and world leaders end up making decisions purely on intuition, and this is because after extensive research, analysis, meetings, and consultations, deciding becomes difficult. They go home, reflect on what's transpired, and do what they have to do.

To succeed in life, you need to think about yourself. A self-disciplined person knows that to conquer, you need to be adventurous, and many of the stories already written (and those yet to be written) depend largely on the ability to make a commitment to yourself.

You Are Your Priority:

Making a commitment means setting aside all those actions that somehow prevent you from fulfilling that promise. A commitment is a pact. So it's time to make a pact with yourself. You can't postpone your path to success and your destiny to be happy.

Yes, it's true, it may be very difficult, but it's time to fight for your dreams.

You may have doubts along the way, but you can't forget that everything you obtain will radiate outward in a centripetal fashion.

Centripetal force explains the generation of circular energy that remains in constant motion, with its center point having the greatest concentration of power.

If you make that commitment and turn it into your source of motivation, you'll generate such powerful energy that you'll create a constant and powerful circular motion. Your commitment to yourself is at the center, and all the benefits of your achievements will expand to your family, your workplace, your friends, and everyone who comes near that driving force that no one can stop, because every day its fuel is born from the motivation it has to keep going.

Your centripetal force is under control, your emotions and actions focus on a single point: the goal you want. That's why many advisors say that in the order of priorities, you should come first.

No one can give what they don't have.

On one occasion, a plane experienced severe turbulence.

It was so violent that the crew reminded passengers of the actions to take in case of emergency. Suddenly, the oxygen masks dropped from above the seats. A distressed mother, in her panic, tried to put the mask on her baby first, but amid the violent movements, she fell victim to her nerves and suffered an asthma attack.

Fortunately, a flight attendant came to her aid, put the mask on the mother first and then on the child. After the turbulence passed, the grateful woman approached the kind young woman, who reminded her: "When we give instructions, you must always put on your own oxygen mask first before securing your child's.

In those moments, the first person who can protect your child is you.

Therefore, secure yourself firstโ€”it's not an act of selfishness, it's a safety protocol." Those words reached the young mother, and she then understood that emotional intelligence must come into play for both their safety. It's possible that some of our decisions look like that scene. It doesn't mean you'll always come first in everything, but in many moments, you need to think with the necessary focus to determine that the next move could be key to achieving your successes in life. Where will all those dreams end up if you've spent your life fighting for others' dreams? You're the master of your destiny, but tomorrow you can't blame anyone, since your future lies in your decision-making. There are very symbolic acts in our lives because, although it may seem incredible, we humans are highly motivated when we remember those meaningful promises.

For example, meeting every year in the same place with your spouse, religiously attending university reunions, making promises to improve among your coworkers, among others.

I invite you to establish an act where you commit to yourself and have some element that witnesses your promise.

Write it down in your room and buy an object that reminds you of what you need to do. Make a commitment to achieve the success your life deserves.

It's the alliance you'll make with the new "You." And so, as the years pass, you'll accomplish each goal until you see the vision of what you want for yourself come true.

That's what happiness is aboutโ€”feeling fully fulfilled. And each individual, in their own measure, will be responsible for breaking through barriers to conquer new dreams.
