BELIEVE IN THE IMPOSSIBLE

"Everything seems impossible... until it's done." Nelson Mandela

In 1953, a New Zealand beekeeper and a Nepalese sherpa decided to climb a mountain that many considered cursed. According to ancient Tibetan beliefs, its summit was regarded as "the home of the gods," a fearsome place. The sherpas spoke of spirits and curses that befell those who dared disturb the mountain.

They called it Chomolungma, the Mother Goddess of the World. It was said that souls trapped in the snow inhabited its slopes and that blood-curdling screams could be heard at night. Some even claimed that the mountain had a will of its own... and that it decided who lived and who didn't.

As if that weren't enough, in the 1930s and 40s, more than a dozen expeditions failed in their attempts to climb it. They left behind frozen bodies and equipment buried by avalanches. After these disasters, reaching its summit was considered an impossible feat.

"The human body isn't designed to survive at that altitude. Anyone who tries will be signing their death warrant." Despite this, two young men, without much technical experience, decided to tempt fate. "We didn't know if it was humanly possible,"

they said later.

Their mission was considered suicidal and arrogant by public opinion at the time. Nevertheless, on May 29, 1953, at 11:30 a.m., Edmund Hillary and sherpa Tenzing Norgay, two unlikely heroes, reached the summit of Mount Everest. And they became legends of mountaineering.

"We didn't conquer the mountain. We conquered ourselves."- Edmund Hillary

IMPOSSIBLE:

The word impossible comes from the Latin impossibilis, which doesn't mean "what can never be done," but rather: "what cannot be done... for now." What we consider impossible today is merely a mental and temporary state. We all have dreams, objectives, and goals.

For some, success is reflected in landing a great job; for others, in building a solid romantic relationship or a stable family. Then there are those who seek to achieve remarkable physical fitness and health. Each person excels at something they're naturally better at or achieve more easily. But at the same time, we all have something in common: we carry desires that seem impossible to us. Goals that feel unattainable and dreams we consider too far out of reach.

And we ask ourselves: How do we achieve what we don't yet have when we don't even know where to begin? The answer starts with something simpler than it seems: dreaming consciously. Dreaming consciously is the tool that allows us to visualize something that doesn't yet exist and turn it into a feasible plan. That's precisely what people who've made history have achieved, like Edison, Gandhi, Leonardo da Vinci, Marie Curie—regardless of era, place, or circumstances.

They were all people who managed to turn the impossible into reality.
