✨A New Year's Ritual: Coming Back to Yourself Through Reflection

I perform this ritual at the start of each year—in that liminal moment when the old life has ended but the new one hasn't yet taken shape.
This practice is for those who feel that the past year has been challenging, transformative, illusion-shattering, marked by loneliness and despair—and precisely because of that, important.
This practice helps you:
- release the emotional loose ends of the departing year
- reclaim energy stuck in the past
- restore connection with your intuition
- gently transition into a new life chapter
🌑 Preparing for the Practice
Choose a quiet time when you won't be disturbed.
You'll need:
- a notebook or journal
- a pen
- 30-60 minutes of solitude
You might light a candle or play soft music—not as a requirement, but as a signal to your body that you're entering a personal, sacred space.
Before beginning, take a few slow, deep breaths, directing your attention to your chest.
✨ The Practice: Year-End Review as Reclaiming Your Power
Step 1. Returning to the Year Past
Slowly flip through your 2025 calendar—month by month.
Note dates and periods that resonate: joy, pain, tension, fear, pride, gratitude.
Don't analyze—just notice and record. This allows what was buried deep within to surface and releases its hold on you.
Step 2. Writing Down Your Experience
Answer the questions below in writing.
Important: write honestly—no one will see this. Don't try to be "right" or spiritual. You can write with anger, tears, warmth—here you can be exactly as you are.
- What significant events happened in my life in 2025
- (family, love, career, learning, friends, health, mental state, rest)?
- The wisest decision I made this year.
- The biggest lesson of the year.
- The most unexpected surprise.
- The biggest risk I took.
- What am I most proud of?
- What did I manage to complete—even though it was hard and scary?
Step 3. Working with Pain and Stuck Energy
If heavy feelings arise while you're writing, don't avoid them—let them out. These are the last threads holding you back.
The pain you feel now isn't your current reality—it's your body's memory of past experience.
Remind yourself:
- the past has no power over you
- you are no longer inside those events
- you can take from them only what strengthens you
Ask yourself:
"What am I ready to leave in the past for good?"
"What part of my power am I reclaiming right now?"
🌕 Closing the Ritual
Close your notebook and place your hand on your chest.
Take several deep breaths, listening to your body.
Say to yourself:
"I honor my path.
I reclaim my energy.
I enter this new chapter consciously."
Sit in silence for as long as you need. Don't analyze.
🤍 Final Words
This ritual isn't about speed or beautiful outcomes.
It's about honesty and being present with yourself.
If you're reading these words, you're already on your path.
Intuition doesn't disappear. Sometimes we simply stop listening to it.
And now, most importantly, you're listening again.
