What can synchronization with the Moon give?

My experience, cyclicality and women

One day, I decided to conduct an experiment for myself: 30 days in synchrony with the lunar cycle, each of its days and phases.

Every day I familiarized myself with the energy, sign, and phase of the lunar day. And here are my conclusions.

Much of what I read regarding lunar cycle observation - both here and elsewhere - assumes that the a woman is still menstruating. I would like to discuss how the moon cycle is - or isn’t - more powerful for those of us who no longer menstruate. Would welcome a healthy exchange on this topic. Thank you.

Hi Sarah, I like this idea/ suggestion for discussion. I also guess I don’t see it as an “assumption” that we are all menstruating. I believe women, even those who are no longer menstruating, or have become super irregular (such as my self at 45yrs old), are still no doubt imprinted by the cyclical nature of our periods. It is the essence of being a woman and is part of our core long before we start as young maidens and well after we stop as crones. Maybe it is even more crucial and beneficial to try to connect to the cyclical energy of the moon as we age and drift from the physical cycles within our bodies.

Thank you for bringing up such important topic 🙏🏻 For me it’s not only about the fact of physical menstruation when I talk about connection with the Moon. I think of energies, cycles and philosophy here. Even for those who don’t bleed anymore or don’t have a womb it can be powerful as well. Also I consider moon cycles in this case as something you can rely on. Listening to your body and moon phases on when to rest and when to be more active. We still flow through cycles of nature, seasons and planets. Our relationship with it may change, but truth behind it stays the same.

I often imagine what society would look like today, had we stuck with the lunar cycle way of living like the ancients used to.

Mmm. I grieve with you as well. But aIso I remind myself that humanity had to forget mother nature, feminine power and cycles in order to remember now. I find comfort in trusting that everything had a reason. 🧝🏻‍♀️

Lindsay, it’s so brave of you to change this fundamental part of your life🧝🏻‍♀️ I could endlessly go on about how our calendar system was made to cut us off from planetary cycles and I hope we can all return to our true selves through remembering 🧚🏻
