The Moon Through the Signs, Part 2

from Libra to Pisces—how to read your emotional cycles

Illustration for The Moon Through the Signs, Part 2

In Part One, we talked about how the Moon creates a unique emotional atmosphere as it moves through each sign. We traveled from Aries to Virgo, discovering why Moon-in-Cancer days make us want to cry, while Moon-in-Leo days make us want to dance.

Today we complete the journey. The remaining six signs—Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces—will help us understand why sometimes we seek harmony, other times we dive deep, why we suddenly crave adventure or, conversely, crave rigid structure.

As before, remember: this isn't a rigid forecast, but a gentle compass. The Moon doesn't tell you what to do. It simply whispers: "many people feel this way today—and you're not alone."

🌙 Quick Recap

The Moon changes signs every 2–3 days. You can track its position using any lunar calendar (for example, in the MoonX app or on astrology websites). Observe yourself: do your states align with these descriptions? Over time, you'll notice your own personal patterns.

If you missed Part One, it covered the signs from Aries through Virgo. Today—the second half of the wheel.

♎ Moon in Libra—longing for harmony and beauty

Libra is the sign of balance, partnership, and aesthetics. The Moon here makes us especially sensitive to discord: harsh sounds, arguments, an unattractive space can really throw us off.

Emotional atmosphere:

  • You want everything to be "beautiful"—food, clothes, surroundings.
  • Decision-making feels hard: you endlessly weigh pros and cons.
  • Your need for company intensifies, but not just any company—pleasant, tactful people.
  • Conflicts feel especially painful. You want to smooth them over, even at the expense of your own needs.

What calls to you: connecting with pleasant people, creating coziness, engaging in creative pursuits, listening to beautiful music.

What feels off: rudeness, loneliness, injustice, abrupt movements.

Gentle practice: Treat yourself to an evening of beauty. Light candles, set out flowers, play pleasant music. If you need to make a decision—give yourself time, don't rush. You might write a pros and cons list, then set it aside until tomorrow.

♏ Moon in Scorpio—depth, intensity, mystery

Scorpio is the sign of transformation, passion, all things hidden. The Moon here dives into underwater currents. Emotions become very deep, almost unbearably intense. Old grievances, suspicions, the urge to "get to the bottom of things" may surface.

Emotional atmosphere:

  • You want to get to the truth—in conversations, within yourself, in others' motives.
  • Every feeling is experienced at maximum volume: love, anger, jealousy.
  • You may feel the urge to withdraw, to process everything that's been building up.
  • Dreams are intense. You want to explore your shadow side.

What calls to you: deep conversations, investigation, mystery, solitude, sometimes—sexual intimacy (as a way to release tension).

What feels off: superficiality, small talk, fakeness, attempts to "cheer you up" (when you just want to sit with your feelings).

Gentle practice: Allow yourself to go deep. Don't run from your feelings. Keep a journal for "dark" entries—somewhere you can write everything that's boiling over without fear of judgment. If anger wells up—scream into a pillow, tear up some paper.

♐ Moon in Sagittarius—search for meaning, thirst for freedom

Sagittarius is the sign of travel, philosophy, expanding horizons. The Moon here wants to escape routine, to see the "big picture." Emotions become more optimistic, but also more impatient.

Emotional atmosphere:

  • You're drawn to go somewhere, even if just to a nearby park.
  • You want to philosophize, talk about lofty things, search for life's meaning.
  • Petty concerns, household chores, lengthy explanations feel irritating.
  • Your mood lifts easily, but drops just as quickly if you feel "trapped."

What calls to you: new experiences, books, lectures, walks, conversations with people from other cultures.

What feels off: staying put, doing boring work, listening to complaints.

Gentle practice: Go for a long walk in an unfamiliar neighborhood. Read a chapter of an inspiring book. Write down one "big dream" you've been postponing. Even if you don't make it happen tomorrow, just having it in your thoughts will lift your energy.

♑ Moon in Capricorn—responsibility, seriousness, structure

Capricorn is the sign of discipline, career, time. The Moon here becomes more restrained, even austere. Emotions don't overflow but gather in a knot somewhere around the solar plexus. You want to control and plan everything.

Emotional atmosphere:

  • Feelings seem "frozen"—or only express themselves through actions.
  • Guilt may wash over you for "doing nothing."
  • You want to organize your tasks, finances, home.
  • Sadness often masks itself as fatigue or irritation.

What calls to you: order, plans, achievements, recognition, solitude (to get work done).

What feels off: chaos, sentimentality, empty talk, outside criticism (you're already hard enough on yourself).

Gentle practice: Give yourself permission to do nothing around the house today. Just be. If guilt creeps in—tell yourself: "I have the right to rest without earning it." Do one small task (dust something, make a list)—and stop. Praise yourself.

♒ Moon in Aquarius—freedom, the unexpected

Aquarius is the sign of friends, innovation, independence. The Moon here doesn't like rules. Emotions become detached, even a bit cool. But also—very curious.

Emotional atmosphere:

  • You want to connect with unusual people, discuss ideas about the future.
  • Emotions can shift in leaps: cheerful one moment, suddenly distant the next.
  • You don't want anyone pressuring you, demanding you "be like everyone else."
  • You may feel the urge to surprise yourself—with a new hobby, look, or action.

What calls to you: freedom, novelty, equal-footing conversations, intellectual debates.

What feels off: conformity, emotional scenes, attachment that suffocates.

Gentle practice: Do something unexpected. Wear a bold accessory, sign up for an online course on a quirky topic, just go for a walk without a destination. Give yourself permission to be different.

♓ Moon in Pisces—merging, dreams, intuition

Pisces is the last sign, completing the wheel. Here the boundaries between "me" and the world blur. The Moon in Pisces makes us hypersensitive, dreamy, highly receptive.

Emotional atmosphere:

  • You want to cry from beauty, from music, from someone else's pain.
  • You easily pick up others' moods (even when you don't want to).
  • Dreams are vivid, prophetic. Creativity calls.
  • Fatigue may wash over you for no apparent reason—it's actually "information overload" from the world.

What calls to you: water (bath, shower, walking by a river), music, silence, solitude.

What feels off: bustle, rigid schedules, superficial contacts, "shoulds" without soul.

Gentle practice: Take a bath with sea salt. Listen to music that moves you to tears. Allow yourself to do nothing if you feel you need to recharge. You can simply lie down, close your eyes, and "drift on your inner currents"—without purpose, just flowing.

📝Continuing the practice—journal of all signs

Now you have descriptions of all 12 signs. To make this practice truly your own, keep a Moon journal for at least a month.

Each day, record:

  • The Moon's sign.
  • Your primary mood (one word).
  • What you felt drawn to do.
  • What you resisted.

After a month, flip through your journal. You'll see how the same states repeat during the same signs. For example: "Moon in Cancer—I cry," "Moon in Capricorn—I dive into work."

This won't make you a prisoner of the Moon. On the contrary, it will give you freedom: you'll stop demanding productivity from yourself on Moon-in-Pisces days, and allow yourself to act boldly when the Moon is in Aries or Leo.

🌕 In Closing

The Moon is the fastest celestial "commentator" on our lives. It runs through all the signs in a month. By watching it, you watch yourself. And gradually you learn to accept your "strange" days without judgment.

Allow yourself to be changeable. It's not weakness. It's lunar wisdom.
