🌙 Somatic Astrology

The body as a celestial map
We live in a constant rush.
Even when we slow down, the mind races faster than we do: notifications, advice, remedies, stimuli that always push us one step beyond our breath.
What if, for a moment, we laid the hourglass on its side?
What if we stopped trying to "understand" and simply started to feel?

Somatic astrology is born here: at the crossroads of deep listening and slowness, between sky and skin.
It's an approach that doesn't start from the mind, but from the body.
It doesn't ask: "What does this transit mean?"
It asks: "What is happening inside me, right now?"
The 3 Pillars:
1. From Brain to Body (Bottom-Up Processing): the first step is to revolutionize the traditional way of reading a horoscope.
The traditional approach is Top-Down: it starts from the analytical mind.
Somatic astrology instead adopts a Bottom-Up approach: it starts from the raw sensory experience of the body before the mind can translate it into words or thoughts.
- A difficult planetary transit is not approached by asking "What does it mean?", but by asking "What do I feel in my body right now?".
- Anxiety or emotional blockage manifest through precise biological signals: a grip in the stomach, sudden heat on the face, an involuntary contraction of the shoulders, or a sense of expansion in the chest.
- The body becomes the radio tuner that intercepts and translates the archetypal energy of the planets in real time, allowing us to process it physically before we do mentally.
2. The Birth Chart as a Map of the Nervous System: the birth chart is no longer an oracle of our destiny as much as it is a map of our neurobiology. Each planet, sign, and aspect indicates how our nervous system has structured itself to respond to external stimuli.
- Stress Patterns: Planetary positions (especially planets in tension with Mars or Saturn) show the points where our body tends to react by activating fight-or-flight mode or freeze mode.
- Attachment Needs: The Moon's position describes our primordial biological strategies for feeling safe. It reveals how we seek emotional nourishment and co-regulation with others.
- Biological Defenses: The birth chart maps our "armor." If a person has a strong blocked Earth component, their nervous system might favor muscular rigidity as a protective shield against uncertainty, while a strong hyperactivated Air component will be reflected in shallow breathing and a nervous system constantly on alert.
3. Modern Melothesia: Melothesia was the branch of ancient astrology that assigned governance of a body part to each zodiacal sign (from Aries governing the head to Pisces governing the feet). The Modern version takes an evolutionary leap: it unites this ancient anatomical geography with modern neuroscience of trauma.
Today we know that the body acts as a biological archive. When we experience a stressful event or trauma that we cannot process, the energy of that experience doesn't vanish, but is retained, undergoing emotional storage in muscular, fascial, and visceral tissues.

⚡ How Do Planets Manifest in the Body? (Practical Examples)
- 🔱 Mars (Vital Energy/Anger): When activated, it expresses itself as heat, motor impulses in the arms or legs, or constriction if repressed.
- 🪐 Saturn (Limit/Structure): It manifests as a sense of heaviness, compression in the chest, or rigidity in the spine and teeth.
- 🜁 Mercury (The Nervous System): A tense transit translates into ocular overstimulation, throat tightness, or accelerated heartbeat.
And the signs also speak through the body:
Aries in the shoulders, Taurus in the throat, Cancer in the chest, Capricorn in the knees…
An ancient geography that now dialogues with the neuroscience of trauma.
The body doesn't forget. It holds memories, emotions, knots. And somatic astrology helps us read them, release them, transform them.
🛠️️ Practical Applications: How Does It Work?
- Somatic Verification of Transits: Instead of intellectualizing a difficult moment, the client is asked: "In which part of your body do you feel this pressure right now?"
- Archetypal Movement: Integrating movement practices (e.g., somatic dance, yoga) to unlock the energy of a sign trapped in the body (e.g., moving the pelvis to integrate Scorpio energy).
- Nervous System Regulation: Using the birth chart to understand which grounding tools are most effective for the individual based on their dominant elements.
✨ Somatic Game
Sometimes many new concepts are easier to grasp with a game that challenges us, and I'll tell you I'd love to create a small community in this app, which already is one.
So: Let's close our eyes for a moment.
Listen to your body, without judgment.
Then write in the comments: body part + zodiac sign
So we can discover together how the sky moves within us.
