Reflection for the Blue Moon

And at the same time, it will be the smallest Full Moon of the year — the Moon will be close to apogee, its farthest point from Earth. The difference may not be obvious to everyone, but the symbolism here is precise: the farther the Moon is, the wider the horizon becomes.

And perhaps this is exactly the kind of view we need right now.

This Full Moon takes place at 9°56′ Sagittarius. And Sagittarius is always connected with big questions: What do I believe in? Where am I going? What is true for me? Which ideals are no longer just beautiful words, but my personal compass?

While the Sun in Gemini gathers details, compares, analyzes, and asks dozens of questions, the Moon in Sagittarius looks further. Facts alone are not enough for her. She needs meaning.

In astrology, the Moon speaks not only about emotions. It shows what gives us a sense of inner support, where we look for peace, how we restore ourselves, and what helps us survive not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually.

The Moon in Sagittarius is not soothed by control over every little detail. She needs a horizon. She needs to understand that what is happening has meaning. She breathes more easily when life has a direction, and a person has a personal philosophy.

There is one more important detail: at the moment of the Full Moon, the Moon will be close to Lilith in Sagittarius. This makes the theme of personal truth even sharper.

This Full Moon has another rare astronomical accent. On the night of the Full Moon, the Moon will pass near Antares — a bright red-orange star known as the heart of the constellation Scorpio. Antares is clearly visible to the naked eye, and its name means “rival of Mars”: ancient observers compared its color to the shade of the Red Planet. In some southern regions, the Moon will even briefly cover Antares during an occultation.

Here, it is important to carefully separate astronomy from astrology.

In Western tropical astrology, this Full Moon takes place in Sagittarius. But astronomically, the Moon passes against the backdrop of Scorpio and near Antares. So the Sagittarius theme — the search for meaning, faith, and direction — gains a Scorpionic depth: desire, passion, fear, and the fight for what feels vitally important.

In astrological tradition, Antares is associated with strong will, inner fire, and the drive to go all the way. But next to the Moon, it may also show where a feeling has become too sharp.

Where has desire turned into tension?
