Seeing Yourself Clearly in the Light of the Snow Moon 🌕

Illustration for Full Moon in Leo

Hello!

You’ve probably already read our author’s article on the February Full Moon, which occurred on February 1, 2026, at 22:08 UTC, in the constellation of Cancer, interpreted through the Sidereal (Eastern) system.

As always, I’ve prepared a companion piece based on Tropical (Western) astrology.

And that naturally leads to a question:

February Full Moon — in Leo or in Cancer?

Most often, the February Full Moon is associated with Leo. However, in February 2026, from an astronomical perspective, the fully illuminated Moon was located in the constellation of Cancer.

From an astrological point of view, according to Tropical (Western) astrology, the February Full Moon of 2026 is considered a Full Moon in Leo.

This difference arises because zodiac signs in tropical astrology are not strictly tied to the actual constellations, but are instead based on the seasonal cycle of the Sun.

What Is the Snow Moon?

The second Full Moon of 2026 — known as the Snow Moon — occurred on Sunday, February 1.

As with any Full Moon, its influence lingers for several days: the Moon appears full on the nights before and after February 2.

February has traditionally been associated with the heaviest snowfall in North America, which is why many Native American tribes referred to this Full Moon as the Snow Moon.

Some tribes also called it the Hunger Moon, as harsh winter conditions made hunting and food gathering especially difficult.

Moon Energy

While the Moon is in Leo and the Sun stands opposite it in Aquarius, themes of self-expression, recognition, and one’s place in society may rise to the surface.

Emotionally, this Full Moon can touch on matters of creativity, children, pleasure, romance, and personal visibility.

At the same time, the Sun in Aquarius may push toward radical choices — the urge to change everything at once or completely reshape one’s life.

The intensity increases as the Full Moon in Leo also forms oppositions to Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Pluto.

This points to potential emotional swings affecting many — if not all — areas of life:

  • from expressing feelings and communicating with loved ones (Mercury),

to concerns about finances and the difficulty of choosing what — or whom — to prioritize (Venus),

from the urge to procrastinate or to fix everything with one bold move (Mars),

to heightened power dynamics, roles, and leadership issues in both personal and professional relationships (Pluto).

Guidance

If you notice similar emotional states, try not to act impulsively.

Emotions during a Full Moon — especially one in Leo — tend to become vivid, amplified, and at times even theatrical. They need time to settle.

Lean into the energy of the Sun in Aquarius: look at the situations that concern you from a new perspective, try doing something differently — in small ways, in details — without dismantling the life direction you have already chosen.

Who Will Feel This Full Moon Most Strongly 🌕♌

The energy of this Full Moon will be felt most clearly by those with key planets or the Ascendant in the fixed signs:

♌ Leo — You are at the heart of this Full Moon. Emotions, desires, and the need for self-expression intensify. This is a moment of visibility, creativity, and personal truth — but also a test of how authentically you allow yourself to shine.

♒ Aquarius — The Full Moon activates the axis of self vs. others. Relationships, partnerships, and your role within a group may come into sharp focus, pushing you to rethink commitments and boundaries.

♉ Taurus — Questions of inner security, home, and emotional foundations come to the surface. You may feel torn between the need for stability and the urge to respond to changing circumstances.

♏ Scorpio — Career matters, public image, and long-term goals are highlighted. Power dynamics and unspoken tensions may emerge, asking for honest reassessment of direction and control.

🌕 Reflection Questions

  • Where in life do I allow myself to be truly visible — and where do I still hide?
  • In what ways do I hold back from shining brightly out of fear of judgment or criticism?
  • Which talents, desires, or forms of self-expression am I postponing “for later”?
  • Where do I confuse genuine self-expression with the need for approval?
  • Which part of myself am I ready to accept and show to the world now?

✍️ Journaling Practice

  • I describe a moment when I feel most like myself. What am I doing? How do others see me?
  • I recall a situation where I restrained my self-expression. What stopped me at that time?
  • Which forms of creativity or self-expression are asking to enter my life right now?
  • How can I support myself in expressing who I am, without waiting for external validation?
  • What is important for me to preserve within myself, even if others do not immediately accept it?

This Full Moon may clearly reveal the difference between where you express yourself from the heart and where you act based on expectations, rules, or someone else’s script.

Sometimes, the bravest step is to stop hiding your true self within it. 🌕✨
