Not Near the Entrance

The stove is traditionally not recommended in a position where it is immediately visible when you enter the home, or directly opposite the front door.

In the symbolic logic of Feng Shui, the entrance is associated with the flow of energy entering the home, while the stove represents Fire and resources. Their direct proximity is therefore considered less harmonious.

If changing the layout is not possible, you can create visual separation with a small partition, furniture, or a plant.

Not in a Tight Corner

A stove squeezed between walls or cabinets can create an uncomfortable workspace for the person cooking.

In Feng Shui, this can also symbolically represent restricted movement and limited opportunities, potentially relating to themes such as success, career, and family harmony.

Ideally, leave enough open space around the stove. The person cooking should feel comfortable, confident, and free to move.

Not Directly Beside the Sink

This is one of the best-known Feng Shui recommendations.

The stove represents Fire, while the sink represents Water. Within the Five Elements system, these two elements are considered conflicting, so they are traditionally not placed directly next to each other.

If your kitchen is small and moving either one is not an option, create some separation between the stove and sink if possible. You can also introduce a wooden element between them, such as a wooden countertop, cabinet, or small partition.

In the traditional Five Elements system, Wood can symbolically help balance the interaction between Water and Fire.

Not on a Kitchen Island

Another traditional recommendation is to avoid placing the stove on a kitchen island when you have a choice.

In Feng Shui, the wall behind the stove can symbolize support and protection. When the stove is positioned in the middle of the kitchen, there is no such support behind it, which may symbolically be associated with instability.

But if your stove is already on an island, there is no need to start renovating your entire kitchen. Feng Shui can be approached flexibly: work with what you can realistically change.

First, clean the stove and tidy the area around it. Then prepare something delicious - it does not have to be complicated.

While the fire is burning, think about what you already have in your life. What resources do you have? What skills help you earn money? Who supports you? What opportunities have already appeared in your life?

Then write down one specific financial action you will take during the coming week.

It could be creating a budget, setting aside a certain amount of money, completing a work task, looking for a new client, reviewing the price of your services, or simply deciding not to make a purchase you do not actually need.

In this way, symbolic Fire is connected with real-world action.

In Feng Shui, the stove can be a symbol of wealth, but its real value lies in the reminder it offers.
