❤︎ Love Yourself First ❤︎

Calling your energy back to yourself through self-love, awareness, and healing.

As the moon was in Scorpio, I was letting go of several tarot cards in the river as I feel my life entering a transition. As I released them, the wind carried a few onto a rock instead of letting them drift away. It felt grounding, like a message reflecting something back to me.

❤︎

One of the cards that kept showing up was “Love Yourself First” from an old Romance Angels Oracle deck. It states: “Your self-respect makes you more romantically attractive.”

At first, I felt slightly annoyed when I picked it up again, like I was being reminded of something I already knew. In a playful moment, I even threw it back into the river. But it stayed with me afterward.

❤︎

Over the next few days, I kept reflecting on it.

“Love yourself first” began to feel less like instruction and more like awareness, a reminder that when I desire more love or connection, I also need to return to myself in a caring, non critical way.

The more I understand myself, the more I realize that self-love isn’t about isolation it’s about building a foundation of respect, boundaries, and emotional awareness. From that place, love for others becomes clearer, not more confusing.

❤︎

Perhaps it also means allowing space for introspection, understanding cycles you have been stuck in, learning from past relationships, and recognizing what has shaped you. Not to stay in the past, but to take the lessons forward and release what no longer belongs.

This card keeps bringing me back to one truth: healing doesn’t only happen alone it can also happen within relationships. It happens in awareness. And self-love is what allows both.

❤︎

When you return to yourself, you are able to return to love.

So how can we practice self-love, you may ask?

Creating a small space or “altar” to yourself can be a way of coming back into your own energy. It doesn’t have to be complex. It can simply be:

  • A photo of yourself
  • Objects that make you feel like you
  • Perfume or scents that feel comforting
  • Flowers or natural elements
  • Items that represent your essence or personality

It can also be a practice of reflection:

  • Writing down things you are good at
  • Things you appreciate about yourself
  • Qualities you are still learning to see clearly
  • Ten simple acknowledgements of yourself

In moments of disconnection or overstimulation, it can be as simple as pausing and returning inward with intention, reminding yourself: I call my energy back to me. I choose love within myself first. My energy returns to me. I am whole within myself.

❤︎

In this way, self-love becomes less of a concept and more of a practice. Love is something you return to, not something you lose yourself in.
