Living Beyond My Diagnoses
Article · 2 min read ·

The reality of navigating autism, epilepsy, chronic illness, and finding hope in everyday moments.
When people look at me, they often don’t see everything I carry with me each day. They don’t see the countless appointments, hospital admissions, medications, procedures, or the determination it takes just to get through an ordinary day.
I live with autism, ADHD, epilepsy, asthma, chronic pelvic pain, a neurogenic bladder, and other long term health conditions. These diagnoses affect my daily life in different ways, but they are only one part of who I am. They have shaped my perspective, strengthened my resilience, and inspired me to use my voice to advocate for others living with disabilities and chronic illness.
Living with invisible disabilities can be especially difficult. There are days when I may look “fine,” yet I’m managing pain, fatigue, seizures, or symptoms that no one else can see. I’ve learned that appearance is never a reliable measure of what someone is experiencing.
Alongside the challenges, I’ve found comfort in the little things. Photography allows me to capture moments of beauty, especially sunrises and sunsets that remind me every day is a new beginning. I love spending time with animals, baking, and creating, because these moments bring peace during difficult times.
I created this space to share my journey honestly. Not because I want sympathy, but because I believe that sharing real experiences can help others feel less alone. If my story helps even one person feel understood, then it’s worth telling.
Disability has taught me patience, compassion, and strength. It has shown me that resilience isn’t about never struggling. It’s about continuing to move forward, even on the hardest days.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Whether you’re living with a disability yourself, supporting someone who is, or simply wanting to learn more, I’m grateful you’re here.
This is just the beginning. 🌙💙
