Freyja: The Goddess Who Chooses First

Freyja: The Goddess Who Chooses First

Your Sovereign Right to Choose in Your Own Life (Part 1 of 5)

Before Odin gets his pick of the fallen warriors. Before Valhalla fills with the battle-slain. Before the Allfather claims his honored dead.

Freyja chooses first.

Not second. Not after. Not from what’s left over.

First.

For those new to her: Freyja is the Norse goddess of love, beauty, war, death, magic, and sovereignty. She rides into battle, commands seidr magic so powerful that even Odin learned from her, and governs her own afterlife realm called Fólkvangr. She wears the Brísingamen necklace, drives a chariot pulled by cats, and answers to no one. She is whole, she is fierce, and she does not fragment herself to make others comfortable.

But here’s the teaching that cuts deepest: she doesn’t wait for permission to choose. She doesn’t ask if it’s okay. She doesn’t apologize for going first.

She simply claims what is hers.
