Create an Enchantment Basket

One of my favorite little rituals is carrying what I like to call an Enchantment Basket (though, if I’m honest, mine is really more of an enchantment bag).
It’s simply a collection of little things that make ordinary moments feel softer, cozier, and a little more magical. Instead of only carrying the essentials, I like to fill my bag with tiny comforts that invite me to slow down and enjoy wherever I am.
Mine usually includes:
- My scrapbook
- Stickers and washi tape
- A tiny figurine/toy companion
- My e-Reader (or a book)
- A few tea bags
- My favorite perfume
- Lip balm
- A pen I love writing with
- Sometimes a little chocolate
The idea isn’t to carry more things, it’s to carry things that bring you joy.
If I find a quiet café, I can scrapbook for a while. If I’m sitting in a park, I can read a few pages. If I’m having lunch alone, my tiny rabbit joins me. A cup of tea, a familiar scent, or a few minutes with my journal can completely change how an ordinary afternoon feels.
Your Enchantment Basket might look completely different, and that’s the beauty of it. Maybe it’s filled with knitting supplies, watercolor paints, postcards, a camera, pressed flowers, or letters from people you love.
Over time, you’ll start noticing that these little objects become more than just things. That pen reminds you of a cozy afternoon at your favorite café. That sticker came from a spontaneous bookstore visit. That tiny perfume carries the scent of a season you’ll never quite forget. Before you know it, your bag isn’t just holding your belongings, there are tiny pieces of your inner child, each one quietly reminding you that even the most ordinary days are worth remembering.
Life doesn’t always need grand adventures to feel magical. Sometimes, all it takes is carrying a little piece of that magic with you wherever you go.
