Anyone who has had the privilege of being loved by a cat knows that they are creatures filled with magic—and I don't mean that as a cliché.

Cats and women form a magical parallel, both in positive and negative ways. Historically, the more women were criticized and marginalized, the more felines were persecuted and rejected. Today, however, both women and cats are following the same upward trajectory socially speaking. Women are making our way forward in society, demanding equality and recognition of our worth and rights, and cats have gone from being nearly despised animals or the least preferred pet to becoming a full-fledged cultural phenomenon in recent years.

Cats and women have always shared a deeply connected relationship in terms of personality, elegance, creativity, and sensitivity.

There's an old saying: "Try to understand the cat and you'll understand the woman."

From what we've discussed, the cat symbolizes domestic harmony, the comforts of home, and its ties to women link it to the moon, the night, motherhood, children, the menstrual cycle, and weather patterns.

According to rural tradition in southern European countries, the domestic cat is associated with healthy pregnancies and childbirth. Legend has it that midwives would find out whether an expectant mother had a cat, and if so, would investigate whether she treated her cat well. If the answer was yes, this was an omen of a good delivery and indicated that she would also treat her future child well. But if the answer was no, the midwife would advise the woman to make amends in the weeks before birth so that life would reward her when it came to her impending motherhood.

In rural homes where both the woman and the female cat were pregnant at the same time, it was considered an incredible omen if both gave birth within days of each other, serving as a reference for one another during labor.

1. If the cat licks its paws, it means rain is coming. If, in addition to licking its paws, it passes them behind its ears, there will be a storm. If it has its back to a heat source, bad weather and cold are expected for the next day.
2. If it licks its tail and then becomes playful, jumping and acting cheerful, wet weather is expected.
3. If the cat stays for a while with its nose pointed northeast and only its tail moving, it means a disturbance is approaching. Conversely, if it points its nose southwest, the next day will bring good weather.
4. During a storm, if the cat lies down in the middle of the room, drawing the attention of those present, and then sits quietly, it means the storm is passing.
5. If a cat spends the day sleeping when the weather is bad, the next day the climate will improve.
6. According to the saying "when the cat lies upside down, the rain won't let up," if the feline sleeps with its head positioned upside down, rain, hail, or snow is forecast.
