When plants, Sun, and intention meet

Solar oil is made by macerating plants in a carrier oil, using sunlight during the infusion period.

🫙Preparing your solar oil

You'll need:

• 1 clean, completely dry glass jar;
• dried herbs of your choice;
• a high-quality carrier oil, such as olive, jojoba, sunflower, or almond;
• a tight-fitting lid;
• a dark glass bottle to store the finished preparation.

🌿 1. Prepare the container

Wash and sanitize the jar and let it dry completely.

Do not put damp herbs in the oil.

🌿 2. Add the herbs

Place the dried herbs in the jar without packing them down. As you add them, think about the purpose of your preparation.

☀️ 3. Cover with oil

Pour the carrier oil until it completely covers the plants.

Leave a small space at the top and gently stir with a clean, dry utensil to release any air bubbles.

Close tightly.

🌞 4. Let it receive the Sun

Before placing the jar in the sun, hold it in your hands.

Breathe deeply and observe the plants submerged in the oil.

Then say:

"I unite the strength of the plants with the light of the Sun.

May this oil support the intention I have chosen to cultivate.

May I use it with awareness, respect, and purpose."

Place the jar in your chosen location.

Put the jar in a clean, protected spot where it can receive sunlight.

For a simple home practice, you can work with two to four weeks of maceration, checking the preparation regularly.

During this time, the oil absorbs some of the fat-soluble components from the plants, also taking on their color and aroma.

Once a day, gently swirl the jar.

Tip: You can also prepare your oil on a Sunday, traditionally associated with the Sun in various magical correspondences, especially when the intention involves vitality, confidence, recognition, creativity, or personal power.

After maceration, strain out the plants and store the oil in a clean, dry, and preferably dark container.

It can accompany different practices:

• anointing candles;
• consecrating ritual objects;
• preparing an altar;
• performing self-care rituals;
• using a small amount on your hands before spiritual practice, when the oil is suitable for topical use.

One of the simplest ways is to anoint a candle according to the ritual's purpose.
