Whenever I talk about spells or everyday magic, I'm not always talking about spending hours preparing an elaborate spell setup or scenario. Sometimes it all comes down to something much simpler, and believe it or not, both approaches are equally valid and effective. From charging an amulet for personal protection to blessing your food, these are small rituals that help you connect with the spiritual realm. Magic doesn't always have to be complicated, and today I'm here to show you that in the most practical way possible. I don't want you to see this article as complex or tedious—quite the opposite.

There's magic that requires specific steps to be followed, but there are also very basic, powerful, and effective spells that can help you connect with your inner goddess or god and engage with magic, abundance, and prosperity.

First of all, and if you read me regularly you'll know what I'm about to say: give thanks. There's nothing more powerful than expressing gratitude each morning when you wake up, when you leave the house, or when you're about to go to bed. I'm a firm believer in the power of words, and nothing is more potent than gratitude.

I do this every morning when I wake up. It's like a reset, a transition—a new day begins and we have 24 hours filled with countless opportunities.

Place your hands over your chest, close your eyes, and say "thank you." You don't need to say it out loud, and you don't need to thank anyone for anything specific, although I sometimes like to give thanks that it's raining, that temperatures have dropped, that I'm watching a beautiful sunrise, or simply that my back doesn't hurt when I wake up 😅

The second ritual I'm proposing is closely tied to the first one: blessing your coffee with good intentions. If you prefer, you can do this with your glass of water or whatever beverage you usually have when you wake up to break your fast.

Hold the drink between your hands, close your eyes, and whisper your affirmation or mantra to it. It can be something as simple and general as "I'm going to have a good day" or "everything will go well for me today," or whatever phrase you prefer or feel most connected to. If you can't think of one, here are some for inspiration:

"I am valid and strong"

"I am incredible"

"I am a brave and strong woman (or man)"

"I am deserving of abundance"

"Today will be my best day of the week"

The next ritual, which you can actually perform right after the previous two in one continuous sequence, is the shower spell or daily bath. This is something I've unconsciously been doing my whole life, since I was little—jumping in the shower whenever I feel overwhelmed or sad.

You can start by slowly getting under the powerful stream of water from your shower, imagining that your body is a hollow channel with many nooks and crannies from head to toe. As the water falls, picture it traveling through and cleansing all those grooves, washing away all the negative feelings you've accumulated during the day, or conversely, filling them with positive energy and strength to face the new day.

Another even simpler thing you can do is a body scan while you shower. Just focus on how the water flows over your entire body—the temperature, the pressure, how the drops hit your head or shoulders and how that makes you feel.

The most magical part you can add to this routine comes through your personal hygiene or beauty products. Imagine the body wash or shampoo carrying away all that unwanted negative energy. You can even make requests while the soap travels over your body, asking it to remove all that discomfort. If you use hair conditioner, you can ask for exactly the opposite—that it add to your life the enthusiasm, strength, vitality, and energy you need to face your daily obstacles, since hair conditioner is a product that stays in your hair even after rinsing it out.

Another thing I'm suggesting is blessing a candle in a simple way. You've probably read in many places (I even wrote an article about it recently) about candle magic, and today I'm proposing something simpler.

If you're someone who studies, works from home, or simply wants some time alone with yourself, there's nothing better than lighting a new candle to add some magic to your routine.

I'm someone who's still studying right now, and believe me, I love what I'm studying, but there are days when everything feels like an uphill battle. That's why I use little boosts, and besides a good coffee, there's always a candle at home that can help me tackle my tasks with energy.

Sit down in your workspace or wherever you want to relax, hold the candle between your hands, and with your eyes closed, whisper to it everything you need for today. It could be peace, relaxation, energy, strength, courage, calm, positive thoughts, silence, mental clarity... whatever comes to mind is completely valid. Once you've "spoken" with the candle, place it in a safe spot, light it, and begin your activities. The candle acts as a guardian, watching over you to help you accomplish your tasks in the way you've asked.

⚠️Don't leave the candle unattended, don't leave home with it burning, and if you work from home, watch out for papers or electronic devices that might be nearby⚠️ The candle doesn't need to burn completely. Once you've finished the activity or if you're going to leave your space, you must extinguish it. It's better to put it out and relight it later than to suffer a tragedy from fire.

Other quick spells I know, practice, and you can do easily:

  1. Open your home's windows at sunrise and sunset to ventilate and let the good in and the bad out (though I don't do this since I always have my windows open 😄😅)
  2. Blow cinnamon on the first Sunday of the month—go to your doorway and facing inward toward your home, blow a handful of cinnamon. This attracts abundance, but remember, you can't sweep or vacuum the floor for the next 24 hours unless it's absolutely essential. Your home's hygiene comes first, especially if you have pets or small children
  3. Add salt to the mop bucket before cleaning—it cleanses bad energies
  4. Burn a bundle of rosemary on Fridays to attract good luck and abundance (burn small amounts of rosemary; a sprig is enough, and if you have respiratory problems this ritual isn't for you—NEVER inhale the smoke even if you're completely healthy)
  5. If you feel there's envy directed at you, braid your hair with a red ribbon—this helps ward off those bad energies.

If you practice any of these little rituals or have some you'd like to share, you know I'm all ears (eyes in this case) and I'll read you in the comments 🤍🕯️🪴
