Opening the channel: receiving messages through automatic writing.

Today we're going to explore one of the simplest ways to channel through information that may be useful for you or others: automatic writing.
Automatic writing is exactly how it sounds; automatic. So as if you're functioning almost on auto-pilot, it's allowing your hands to type or write without thinking about it, and without judgement.
You have potential to end up with pages and pages worth of work without much of even a single thought. It may seem like a ramble in the moment, but then when you review it later, there may be a message inside that's much more profound than you ever even realised.
Automatic writing can be done with either pen (or pencil) and paper, or on the computer.
Personally, I prefer to channel through the laptop and on keyboard. It works for me as a fast-typer and being able to just allow my fingers to move without thought, as I am doing now for this article. However, I've received some of the most incredible messages when putting physical pen to paper and simply allowing my hand to flow.
I don't believe there is a right or a wrong in terms of which method of automatic writing is better. It is simply what you prefer and what feels more natural for you.
I once had an experience during a Mercury Retrograde where I was automatic writing on my laptop and my Bluetooth keyboard entirely broke down from the energy that was coming through. Absolute insanity! But it is true. We can channel extremely divine messages this way.
When you're automatic writing, you may notice much more about yourself. You may notice if your writing is extremely negative or more on the positive side and it may bring forth realisations of what you perhaps need to work on clearing energetically. The beauty of automatic writing is that you never know what is going to come through.
While participating in this practice, messages may come through that challenge your ways of thinking or feeling. These are all deep parts of your subconscious anyway, and can reflect the ways you've been programming your mind. Perhaps you've been so used to trying to 'shut your brain off' or 'ignore' it. If you have a voice in your head that goes on and on, you could also consider this as what you're tapping into. The point is to release thoughts and messages without actually thinking about it.
If you're ready to try it out for yourself, keep reading for a simple way to begin.
How to begin automatic writing:
Start by clearing and grounding your energy. You can do this in a multitude of ways. It can be as simple as 3 big deep breaths.
If you come across 'blocks' or an 'inability' to proceed, here are some affirmations to say, or write, before you continue:
I release any lack of connection to my creator self. I am fully connected.
I release any blocks in-between me and my intuition.
Next, choose your medium (pen, pencil or computer/keyboard)
Start writing, without thinking. Let the stream flow.
Stop when it feels complete.
Review the message you received, and then revisit it later. Sometimes I like to give it some time, a few days, even, before I re-read it. You may get something different out of it when you look back.
When you're reviewing the message that came through, stay open to what it's trying to tell you. Notice any patterns and identify any emotional themes. It even may help to journal your reflections afterwards.
The point of automatic writing is to further deepen your connection with the divine. There is so much wisdom that we can receive from the ether space, and this is just one of the incredible ways we can unlock that access.
I encourage you to try it out. Feel free to even try it in the comments below. What message do you receive?
