One thing that stands out to me is the Authors Guild “Human Authored” certification. Since there’s no way to force anyone to disclose their use of AI, authors can differentiate their original works in this way, and consumers can actively seek and choose human-authored content. I hope we see more of this, expanding into more artistic areas.

ITT has been eye opening for me both as a designer and author in seeing how many are turning to ai for the arts. I DO use it for coding things like my snake identification resource for my other publication but all information is from me and nothing is generative because I value the trust put in me too much.

❤️❤️ I’m not a person who thinks there’s no place for AI!! I actually use it for different things too! I just love the idea of people being able to ‘advertise’ their work as certifiably human-made because I think, especially going forward, there are going to be a lot of people looking for that. Passing off work that isn’t your own as your own, most especially in a for-profit situation, isn’t ok, but USING AI as a tool is almost a given. I mean, I think google searches are AI-driven at this point? I just mean, I didn’t mean my comment as any sort of moral posturing or judgment. I’m just glad that a certification is an option for both creators & consumers- I think it’s a good attempt to keep the playing field more level & that consumers will probably appreciate it more and more over time. ☺️
