“Summer Solstice Survival: How to Spiritually Thrive Without Melting Into a Puddle of Regret”

by a man who didn’t know the sun had intentions*

Ah, the Summer Solstice. That magical day when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky and roasts us all like emotional rotisserie chickens under the guise of “spiritual transformation.”

It’s the longest day of the year, and you’d think that would mean we get more time to chill. But no. Spiritually speaking, the Summer Equinox is like the cosmic equivalent of your life coach kicking in your door and screaming,

“WAKE UP AND BLOOM, YOU BEAUTIFUL TRASH FIRE!”

So I did what any well-intentioned, slightly deranged spiritual man does:

I prepared.

Survival Tip #1: Hydrate Like Your Aura Depends On It

Water is not optional. This isn’t just hydration—it’s a soul cleanse. Bonus points if you bless it with your intentions. Extra bonus points if you don’t pour a gallon of moon water into your wife’s plants and kill them accidentally. (Sorry again, Lacey.)

Survival Tip #2: Say Yes to Sun, But No to Sunburned Spirit Quests

It’s all about balance. Yes, you need sun exposure to charge your crystals, activate your solar plexus, and look majestic in your backyard like a pagan lizard king.

No, you do not need to sit shirtless for 6 hours meditating on a rock while whispering affirmations to a hawk.

Not again.

Survival Tip #3: Release the Old... Even if the Old is Your Favorite Pair of Emotionally Supportive Cargo Shorts

The solstice is about letting go of what no longer serves you. For me, that was caffeine dependency, old grudges, and the haunting belief that I’d someday “become a morning person.”

I released all of them.

And then I immediately made coffee, grumbled about someone from 2009, and stayed up until 3 a.m. watching conspiracy documentaries.

It’s about progress, not perfection.

Survival Tip #4: Get Grounded… But Like, Without Actually Faceplanting in the Garden Again

Earthing is great. Walk barefoot. Touch grass. Talk to a tree.

Just don’t get too enthusiastic and trip over a hose while yelling, “I AM ONE WITH THE EARTH!”

No one wants to be spiritually aligned and concussed.

Survival Tip #5: The Veil is Thin, Your Emotions Are Thinner

On the Summer Equinox, everything’s heightened—intuition, energy, emotional chaos. You might feel like laughing, crying, screaming, and starting a business all within the same 15 minutes.

That’s normal.

Just ride the wave.

Journal it.

Or scream into a jar, label it “Solstice Rage,” and bury it in the backyard.

Healing comes in many forms.

Bonus Survival Tip: Eat Something Ridiculously Seasonal and Pretend It’s Sacred

Strawberries? Sacred.

Corn on the cob? An ancient rite.

Grilled hot dogs? Fine.

But if someone shows up with a quinoa salad in a crystal bowl named “Litha,” just nod respectfully and back away slowly. You’re not spiritually ready for that yet.

In conclusion, the Summer Equinox is not here to ruin your life. It’s here to lovingly expose every bit of emotional grime you’ve been hiding under your spiritual rug and blast it with sunshine until you either evolve… or cry in your backyard while covered in bug bites and journal ink.

Either way—you’re doing great.
