Mars on this path has a function that contradicts the common reading of Mars in fall. What Cheth is describing isn't weakness, it's a different kind of strength: the strength that holds opposing impulses through intention without needing to crush either of them. The conqueror who knows when to stop because he understands that what he's protecting is worth more than what he gains by advancing without checking the cost.

Geburah, where the path ends, is the sphere of severe force. But Binah, where the path begins, is the Great Mother. Mars in Cancer travels precisely this line: from the mother who nurtures to the force that protects.
