New Moon in Scorpio
The shadow you hide needs love too
Article · 2 min read · ·
On November 9, the New Moon in Scorpio invites us to look within and ask ourselves which parts of ourselves we keep hiding for fear of not being enough.
There are things about ourselves we’d rather not look at.
The jealousy that embarrasses us, the anger we try to hide, that need to feel chosen even when we say we don’t need anyone. We like to think we know ourselves, that we’ve healed our wounds and put certain chapters behind us. But what if there are still parts of ourselves we reject?
In astrology, Scorpio symbolizes emotional depth, secrets, and transformation. This New Moon can be an invitation to look at the things we usually avoid.
Because sometimes, what we most need to heal is precisely what we find hardest to acknowledge. The part of you you learned to hide.
Carl Jung called the aspects of our personality that we find hard to acknowledge or accept the shadow. We’re not talking only about flaws, but also about desires, emotions, and qualities we learned to hide so we could feel loved.
Maybe you learned that crying meant you were weak, that getting angry could push people away, that saying no made you a bad person…
And that’s when you started hiding parts of yourself to fit in.
But the things we reject don’t always disappear. Sometimes they show up in relationships where we forget ourselves, in a constant need for approval, or in anger we don’t even know where it comes from.
Maybe you’re not too sensitive. Maybe you’ve been pretending for a long time that nothing hurts you.
You’re not selfish for needing space; you’re learning to stop worrying about everyone else all the time.
This isn’t about justifying every behavior or turning all our wounds into glittery butterflies. It’s about understanding ourselves without punishing ourselves for being human.
You don’t need to become someone else to start over. Sometimes we confuse healing with constantly trying to fix ourselves. We think we have to be stronger, more self-aware, more spiritual, and less flawed.
But what if growing isn’t about becoming someone who never feels fear, jealousy, or sadness, but about learning to listen to those emotions without letting them run your life?
This New Moon in Scorpio offers us a powerful symbol to reflect on: transformation begins when we stop running from what we need to understand.
So instead of asking yourself only what you want to attract into your life, try asking yourself some different questions over the next few days.❤️
What part of myself do I hide so other people will love me?
What am I still allowing because I’m afraid of being alone?
What if I stopped treating myself like someone who always needs fixing?
You don’t need to have all the answers today. Sometimes, it’s enough to dare to look.
Because you can’t truly embrace yourself as long as you keep rejecting everything you believe makes you less worthy of love.
