♈ Aries: The Golden Ram, the Firestarter

That Time the Zodiac Got Punched in the Face
Alright, lemme tell you something about Aries—because everybody out here wants to make it sound majestic and noble and “the brave warrior of the zodiac” when really, Aries is more like if you strapped a bottle rocket to a goat and shouted, “Good luck”
It all started with this golden, flying ram. Yeah. Flying. With wool made of gold, which feels a little extra but honestly on brand for a sign that shows up loud and proud even when it’s completely uninvited.
Anyway, the ram shows up to save these two kids—Phrixus and Helle—because their stepmom was trying to sacrifice them. Greek myths, man. Nobody had a chill childhood. So this magical glitter sheep scoops ‘em up and takes off into the sky like the world’s most chaotic rescue Uber.
Helle, poor thing, immediately panics and swan-dives off the ram mid-flight. She ends up drowning, but at least she got a whole sea named after her, which is more than I got when I fell off a bike in fourth grade.
Phrixus survives, makes it to safety, and what does he do? He kills the ram. Kills it. Gifts the fleece to some king. Probably said “Thanks for the ride” with one hand and stabbed it with the other. And that’s the golden fleece that later kicks off a whole different legend with Jason and the Argonauts, but I’m not getting into that mess right now.
But here’s where it gets
weirdly relatable
See, everyone thinks Aries is all “heroic leader” and “first sign of the zodiac,” but what they don’t tell you is that Aries is also tied to spring equinox energy—you know, that moment when everything in the world is shifting and waking up and the universe is basically like, “Figure it out, buddy.”
And even older than the Greek stuff? In Babylonian astrology, Aries was known as the Hired Man—not a warrior, not a god, just a dude with a dirty tunic and a strong back out here busting his ass for the harvest. Blue-collar zodiac energy. First to clock in, first to scream “Screw this!” and reinvent the job site.
So yeah, Aries isn’t just some fiery egomaniac with a God complex (although, let’s be honest, they can be). It’s that raw spark. That “I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m gonna do it loud and fast and probably break something” kind of energy
If you’ve got Aries energy in your chart—or hell, even just in your friend group—you already know. They’re the ones yelling “I GOT THIS!” five seconds before setting the oven on fire. They charge into things headfirst, no plan, no backup, no idea if the parachute works… but somehow, they make it.
They don’t wait for signs from the universe. They yell at the universe, “SHOW ME A SIGN!” and then become the sign.
Honestly, if the world ended tomorrow, Aries would be the one rebuilding civilization with duct tape, caffeine, and blind optimism before the dust even settles.
The Ram is not about grace or elegance. It’s about momentum. It’s about being so stubbornly full of life that you crash through the void just to prove it exists. It’s falling face-first into the story and getting back up like, “Did you see that? That was badass.”
So yeah… Aries is chaos. But it’s sacred chaos.
