What is Wicca?

Back in the day, our ancestors were fascinated by the wonders of fire, water, earth, sky, stars, the Moon, and the Sun — everything that surrounded their lives, both animate and inanimate. Many centuries have passed, but there are still people who can genuinely wonder at these miracles and revere them. This story is about Wicca.

undefined

Contemporary Wicca is a pagan system of beliefs consisting of various mythologies and religious traditions of the past. Its straightforward laws empower people from all over the world to sense their affinity with the sacred world of nature, and to live every moment in harmony with themselves and the world around them.

Wiccans believe that the underlying power of nature is that of two mighty beings, a Goddess and a God. Their images represent the feminine and the masculine energies, and it is through their engagement that everything lives and thrives. The God and the Goddess are equal, moreover, they are one. Any deity worshipped on the planet is present in their images. The life events of the God and the Goddess are connected with the seasons and form the basis of the Wiccan holiday calendar.
All Wicca followers must comply with its two fundamental principles.

The first one allows you to do anything as long as it does not do harm to others. According to the other principle, whatever benevolent or malevolent actions a person does will return with triple force. For some Wiccans, attaining the eight virtues is also crucial: mirth, reverence, honor, humility, strength, beauty, power, and compassion, which are the basis of a mature and harmonious personality.

The rest of the teachings may vary from one tradition to another. Wicca emerged very recently and continues to evolve with each passing day.

Wicca is a teaching that makes use of magic. This appears to be one of its most attractive and unique features.

Wiccan magical practices are based on the doctrine of the five elements which form the basis of all things. The pentacle — a star with a circle around it — is the symbol of Wicca. Its five points are believed to represent the five basic elements.

undefined

Fire, earth, water, air and spirit form the basis of Wiccan magic. By affecting these forces in a certain way, you can attract health, love, wealth, or rid yourself of negative influences.

You can practice Wicca in the company of like-minded persons or on your own. Moreover, this teaching allows you to come to know yourself and the world around you subject to no limitations: you can invent rituals, compose prayers and work with energy any way you wish (according to your ideas). In a word, Wicca is available to everyone. You can learn more about it in the next article and invite us to elaborate on any specific topic of interest!

Practicing Wicca has really helped me with my mental health issues, and deal with negativity. Because as I was exploring how to cope with other people’s negativity, I learned that I am an Empath, even though you don’t have to be a Wiccan to be an Empath, it helped me find it. Samhain Blessings.

I completely understand when it comes to being an Empath ! I can physically take on another individual’s trauma or pain. I have PTSD and was very violently abused physically and mentally by an ex boyfriend when I was 19 years old and when I went to group therapy after a few sessions I had to stop going bc it became so overwhelming for me and that’s when I was compelled to practicing Wicca bc it’s the only thing that keeps me centered!

I am so happy to hear I am not alone in the pull to more spiritual Wiccan practices. As a “Cradle Catholic”, the modern-day activities of the church have pushed me away. So I am on a spiritual journey of sorts… relieved I am not alone.

First time I heard about Wicca. And I love the idea of theirs practice. I listened to the 10 minutes meditation about connecting to Mother Earth and I felt the vibration in my body. Feel good vibrations. I think it’s time to connect more with nature .
