What Lunar Day & Calendar Imply
Article · 3 min read

The Moon is the only natural satellite of the Earth that has attracted human attention since ancient times. It is believed that the Moon influences our planet and us. For thousands of years people have observed the Moon and identified patterns of its influence on humans. Based on this, the lunar calendar was drawn up, consisting of lunar months and days.
Some nations still use the lunar calendar as their basic calendar.

In the lunar calendar, the month corresponds to the lunar cycle, which lasts 29.5306 average solar days (synodic month). Sometimes there are 29 days in a lunar month, sometimes there are 30. They alternate in order to follow new moons more accurately. In total, this cycle is 354 days long – 11 days shorter than the solar year. Due to this discrepancy, one extra lunar year emerges every 34 solar years or so.

We should distinguish between a lunar day and a solar day.
A lunar day is an interval between two moonrises. However, unlike other lunar days, the beginning of the first lunar day occurs during a new moon, whereas its end coincides with the nearest moonrise after it.
The first and the thirtieth days of a lunar month may last only a couple of minutes, while the other days have almost equal duration. After 30 lunar days, a new lunar cycle begins.
The first appearance of the young moon in the rays of the setting sun is called the Noumenia.

Each lunar day is believed to have a unique energy. Based on this, the lunar horoscope was formed to describe the main characteristics of the day. During the month, there are super favorable days for activities, when the Moon gives us a lot of energy, and there are days when there is less energy and it is better to go deep into self-study in order to assess our actions for further development.

During a new moon, when the Moon is just beginning to grow, we still have little energy, and this time is the best period to make plans for the upcoming month. The Moon energy builds up every day of the month, and we need to take action.
The full moon is the peak time for our activity. If we work hard, exercise, and spend our energy during this time, we feel great and charged.
During the waning moon period, we have less energy and it is better to phase down our activities and minimize them by the final lunar day.
If we listen to ourselves and manage to adjust to the lunar cycles, the Moon becomes our ally, saving us from burnout, exhaustion, giving us energy and comfort.

The lunar calendar is the key to the proper application of our energy. It is our helper – as it can both promote our success and save us from mistakes. With the help of the lunar calendar we can consciously plan our lives – and the Moon will help us deal with any challenge that we face.
