Understanding your Moon Sign
Beneath your Sun sign hides the key to your healing, your Moon sign. Most people are aware of their Sun sign, most commonly known as a star sign, however, not everyone knows their Moon sign. This sign is just as important, if not more, as the Sun sign.

The Sun sign governs your outer identity, the “you” that the world sees, whereas, your Moon sign is your inner self, your longings and fears, your desires and emotions. Understanding your Moon sign can give you the tools you need to heal yourself, instead of trying to fit into others’ ideas of strength.
Like the Sun sign, your Moon sign is the position the Moon was in when you were born. Unlike the Sun, however, the Moon changes signs every two and a half days. Each sign affects your emotions in unique ways. For example, an Aries Moon will need activity and boldness to feel free, whereas a Cancer Moon prefers deep emotional bonds and a feeling of being at home, wherever that may be.
As a Leo Sun myself, I am very outgoing and I like to think of myself as confident, but I never found that going out and meeting new people was very emotionally healing and I always needed a moment to myself afterwards. The oxymoron of an introverted Leo came to mind whenever I did this. Then I found out that my Moon sign was Libra. Libra Moon’s often find healing in balance, beauty and building authentic relationships. With this knowledge, I focused my energy on the quality of my relationships instead of the quantity of them. By listening to the needs of my Moon sign, I began to heal emotional wounds I didn’t even know I had. Instead of judging myself for being “too introverted”, I recognised this as a natural expression of my own design. Healing then became about honouring both my Moon and Sun signs, as one cannot exist without the other. Allowing my Leo spirit to express itself while also making sure the needs of my Libra side are met has helped me find inner peace and happiness within myself. Don’t think of these signs as opposing each other, but instead think of them as collaborators complimenting each other to create a self that is powerful and uniquely you.

• Find out what your Moon sign is. A simple google search will do the trick. All you need is your date and time of birth.
• Think about what makes you feel most supported and loved. Do you feel the most like yourself when you are alone or surrounded by others? Are you more of a talker or a listener?
• Create short daily rituals that honour your Moon sign. These can be found on the MoonX app as well as a lot of other helpful resources to help you find yourself.
Now you are ready to find your true inner self and always remember: healing isn’t about perfection, it’s about finding a home in yourself.
